"Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude." ~ Thomas Jefferson

Started the short week with a day off. Well, really that means a short day as I took the chance to work without distractions on Monday. State of the City is ready for this coming Monday at 7.

As I spent a few hours with Seymour Transit this week, I realized the human interaction is a huge part of what they do. Yes their role is to provide a ride from point a to point b, but they are often so much more. Frequent riders see them as an ear to bend and a friendly "Good morning, Tim" as they hit the door. Even on the dispatch side they often know a regular rider's address before they say it.

Had a lunch meeting this week with local leaders who are working on an event that will provide 100's of volunteers for our community in the future. Everyone is quick to tell me what we are doing wrong, but few will step forward with a solution or a plan of how to make it better. This group is trying to get engaged locally, and I am excited to see the future they are willing to help build.

Had a chance to visit with Hunter Wart as he was recognized by the State of Indiana for his efforts in the Baby Box. Congratulations and thank you, Hunter.

Spent Saturday at the Youth Leadership Summit with Cory Robinson learning about how to engage our youth in our future. I hope I never overlook the inspiration our youth can give me.

Mr. Jefferson is correct. With the right mental attitude we can achieve great things. I had several chances to sit with current and future leaders this week and see goals from various individuals and organizations. Tighten your belt, find your passion, find like-minded people, and set those goals to change the world or at least our little part of it.
